Grant Donation from the Gene HAAS Scholarship Foundation Provides CNC Students with Measuring Tools

August 30, 2022

SUMTER, SC — Thanks to a grant donation from the Gene Haas Foundation, Advanced CNC Programming students were provided with measuring tools to use in the classroom this fall.

“For years, the generous donation from the Gene HAAS Scholarship Foundation has provided students with funds for tuition assistance along with other course materials,” Humphries said. “This year, we were pleased to offer students measuring tools utilizing those funds. These tools give students a jump-start on what they need post-graduation in the machining field. Tools are a big cost absorbed by the student after graduation. With the high level of training our students receive, it is great to have excellent measurement tools for them to use when performing quality control.”

Gene Haas founded Haas Automation, Inc. in 1983 and is currently the largest machine tool builder in the western world. Haas’ commitment to US manufacturing led to the development of his foundation that focuses on granting funds to help expand Machining and CNC Technology programs.

CCTC’s Basic Machining and CNC Fundamentals Certificate develops skills in basic machining and computer numerical control (CNC) operations. Due to the fast-growing nature of industrial technology, those who have developed skills in CNC operations are in high demand.
