- Books
- Estimated cost of textbooks required for coursework. At CCTC, these are included in direct costs billed to the student.
- Supplies
- Estimated cost of lab materials and other course-related items that are not included in the cost of books.
- Travel
- Estimated transportation expenses between your residence and campus, including fuel or public transit.
- Miscellaneous
- Personal expenses such as laundry, entertainment, and other day-to-day necessities.
- Total Cost of Attendance (COA)
- The total estimated cost to attend Central Carolina Technical College for one academic year, including both direct and indirect costs.
- Independent Student
- A student who meets one or more federal criteria (such as being over age 24, married, a veteran, or having dependents) and is not required to include parental information when applying for financial aid.
- Dependent Student
- A student who does not meet the criteria for independence and must include parental information when applying for financial aid. These students are typically under 24 and unmarried.

- Create or log in to your FSA ID at studentaid.gov
- Gather your information, such as your Social Security number, tax information, and records of untaxed income.
- Complete and submit the FAFSA at studentaid.gov, making sure to add School Code 003995 for Central Carolina Technical College.
