A South Carolina high school diploma, GED, ACT and SAT scores, and Next-Generation ACCUPLACER or ACCUPLACER placement test scores can be used to be admitted to Central Carolina Technical College when minimum requirements are met.
High School Diploma Qualifying Requirements
Standard South Carolina High School Diploma within the last 5 years with the following:
- 3.0 or higher SC UGP GPA (weight GPA).
- Completion of required courses with “C” or better as shown below.
English:
Completion of 3 high school English courses with “C” or better.
Reading not required:
Completion of 3 high school English courses with “C” or better.
Math:
Completion of 3 of the following high school math courses with “C” or better:
- Algebra I (to include Algebra I-A/Algebra I-B or Foundations in Algebra/Intermediate Algebra
- Algebra II
- Geometry
- Algebra III
- Pre-Calculus
- Calculus
- Probability and Statistics
- Trigonometry
Computer Technology:
Completion of ONE high school computer course with a “C” or better AND Reading Not Required.
ACT/SAT Qualifying Scores
ACT:
- English 19+
- Reading 19+
- Math 18+
SAT:
- Evidence-Based Reading 480+
- Writing 480+
- Math 500+
Central Carolina Technical College Qualifying Placement Assessment Scores
Next-Generation ACCUPLACER Qualifying Scores:
- Writing 200+ & Reading 220+
- Arithmetic 200+
- Technology – Possible score of 0-30
Accuplacer Qualifying Scores:
- Sentence Skills 20+
- Reading 30+
- Arithmetic 20+
- Technology – Possible score of 0-30
Additional Information you should know:
- All eligible High School Diplomas and scores from the ACT, SAT, and Placement Assessment are good for 5 years.
- Students can use a combination of qualifying scores and the High School Diploma if minimum requirements are met.
- Students must take the Technology Placement test if the High School Diploma’s minimum requirements or college transfer credits are not met.
